Our day with Janicke was the highlight of our time in Aix-en-Provence. This was no ordinary food tour—it was food tour deluxe. Janicke was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing insights into the history, architecture, culture, and surrounding region with warmth and passion. Her enthusiasm enriched every moment. And the food… from exquisite pastries to artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, and olives, it was a true gastronomic delight. Janicke’s close relationships with each of the vendors added a personal touch—every stop felt like a special experience. What a fabulous tour with Janicke as our guide! We signed up for a food tour and got SO much more. Janicke’s food choices and walking route for us were thoughtful and included historically significant and delicious foods, local markets and products, and a remarkable depth of knowledge of the history of the city of Aix and Provence. We had been here for a few days before our tour and Janicke expanded our understanding of the city, showed us new things we had not yet explored, and revealed treasures we would never have found on our own. Our only regret was not booking the tour earlier in our stay! – Deeni S

Our food tour of Aix-en-Provence with Erin today was outstanding. We covered the markets and were able to sample many different foods and sip some rose. Erin’s commentary on the history of Aix and its connection to food was very interesting and we hated for the tour to end. Bravo! – Scott G
We met Jennifer in central Aix-en-Provence this morning for a delicious and delightful Provence Food Tour. She not only showed us around the area, but had fascinating stories about the south of France going all the way back to the days of the Roman Empire. Interspersed with the history were opportunities to taste several regional specialties including pastries, charcuterie, fresh vegetables, olives, fruit and candy. She clearly knows the artisans and vendors, and had met with them before we arrived to have samples waiting for us when we reached their shops. Her warmth and intelligence were on full display. Erin was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable on all things Aix! She had treats for us at every turn of the tour. It was enjoyable to see her interact with the purveyors during our time together. My wife and I would highly recommend Erin. On a side note, the day started with a “storm of the year” so we weren’t sure we would go ahead with the tour. Thankfully, the weather changed and Erin was very flexible to meet us at a later hour. – D Bisson
My Wife and I had the pleasure of spending a magical 4 hours on the Aix en Provence food tour hosted by Erin. The tour EXCEEDED our expectations as Erin not only had led us on a well thought out food tour which Immersed us in the Provence food scene , she also gave us a thorough history of the town and as if that was not enough she enlightened us In the architectural nuances of mansions that are found when wandering the beautiful streets of Aix. But…what really made the tour extra special was Erin’s bubbly persona and her passion for food which was not only evident to us but clearly to all the vendors who she introduced to us through out the tour. If you are looking for an authentic food tour and much more I would highly recommend the Aix en Provence food tour and ask specifically for Erin. – Experience592177
Our group of 3 had a lovely afternoon discovering AIx with Erin. She showed us special patisseries and treated us to local cake, sweets and the best macaroon I have ever tasted in my life ( I am gluten allergic so these were all extra yummy!) We learned about this history of the city and she showed us different parts of town that we may not have seen on or own. Her tour is well worth the cost for the private attention and her wealth of knowledge. 5 stars for sure! – hanmarg
Last week, at the recommendation of Rick Steves, four of us we met the delightful and knowledgeable Janicke for a stroll around Aix to some of her favorite local food, patisserie, cheese, and wine purveyors. You will not be disappointed; there are small tastes of the very best in Aix and you will get an informed perspective of the history and importance of this beautiful and friendly city. This tour was an absolute highlight of our stay in Aix! HIGHLY recommend! We were a family of 5 – including a 16 year old son – and we all loved this experience! Janicke was a delight! Her energy and love for food and Aix is contagious! We especially appreciated all the historical knowledge and tidbits she shared and we wandered from one tasty food stop to the next. Janicke und Erin haben für meine Klasse (20 Schülerinnen und Schüler) eine unvergessliche Tour vorbereitet, alle waren restlos begeistert. In der Tour steckte so viel Enthusiasmus und Herz und gut dosiertes Wissen, dass alle sogar ein wenig traurig waren, als es fertig war. We did a tour with Janicke in AIX following our river cruise down the Rhone. She was wonderful, taking us to her favorite places for everything from pastries to wine to cheese and bread, chocolates, etc. and in spite of a cold steady rain that afternoon, we had a great time and learned a lot about AIX from this knowledgeable, outgoing lady. We highly recommend her and this tour. Did I mention she can also steer you to wonderful local restaurants? – Fred R

Our family group of four enjoyed a wonderful food tour with Janicke on a beautiful morning in Provence. Throughout the tour, Janicke provided historical information about Aix-en-Provence as well as highlights of French eating in this region. Not only was she very entertaining, she was fun! We had the best time learning, walking through the farmers market and shops, and sampling! She thought of everything to make our tour special. This was a highlight in our two and a half week stay in France. I would not miss this experience if you love fresh food and French history. – Susan N
